Product Profile: Fiber Optic Festoon System

Magnetek recently completed a engineered festoon system featuring fiber optic cable for use on an automated monorail application.

The system includes heavy-duty C-Track with double saddle festoon trolleys and flat cable.

The flat cable features fiber optics that use light to convey a signal throughout the system. These glass fiber optics are used instead of a typical copper wire/electrical signal because of the extreme length of the application – approximately 250 feet.  Signals sent over copper degrade over a long distance, so for applications over 200 feet, fiber optic cable is recommended.
